The Strong Memorial Hospital HIV Treatment Fund assists with expenses for Strong Memorial Hospital AIDS Center patients. Individuals receive funds for medical/healthcare-related, psychosocial/therapeutic and quality-of-life expenses, such as purchasing medication not covered by insurance, transporting patients to and from appointments, and providing gift cards for groceries and holiday gifts. The fund is supported entirely by donations and does not cover administrative or overhead costs.
The AIDS Center is a treatment facility designated by the AIDS Institute of the New York State Department of Health, and serves more than 850 patients throughout Rochester and the Finger Lakes Region. The AIDS Center provides a wide range of medical, nursing, case management and social work services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
The suggested donation is $25 for the general public and $15 for University of Rochester students with ID. Tickets may be purchased at the Strong Memorial Hospital AIDS Center, 601 Elmwood Ave., Room 3-5000; Parkleigh, 215 Park Ave.; and Rochester Starbucks locations.
