The Buzz Radiothon Raises $113,318 for Wilmot Cancer Center

The Breakfast Buzz Christmas Spectacular raised $113,318 for the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center today. The radiothon supports expansion of cancer care and research at Rochester’s largest cancer center.
“The whole day was a great success,” said Richard I. Fisher, M.D., director of the Wilmot Cancer Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center. “The Community support we’ve seen is overwhelming and we’re grateful to everyone who participated, as well as The Buzz radio for its generosity.”
The Breakfast Buzz 98.9FM hosted the second annual event at T.C. Hooligans at The Mall at Greece Ridge Center. There were live bands, carolers, children’s activities, breakfast and photos with Santa.
Christmas Spectacular was sponsored by Eastman Kodak Co., Frontier Communications, T.C. Hooligans, Digiquick presents Clix, The Mall at Greece Ridge Center, Messenger-Post Newspapers, Advantage Federal Credit Union, GreenHomes America by Hughesco, R&M Mortgage, Michael’s Crafts and 98.9 The Buzz. In addition, J.B. Sterling Construction matched the first $25,000 in donations.
