Noyes Memorial Hospital, Dansville NY

Dansville, New York - This year’s theme for National Hospital Week is "A Guiding Light for Changing Times", and Noyes Health is proud to recognize Noyes Memorial Hospital as the foundation upon which the healthcare organization was built over a century ago. Noyes began providing healthcare services to residents in Livingston, Allegany, Steuben and surrounding counties back in 1890. The original hospital, named the Dansville Medical and Surgical Hospital, was located in the building now known as the King’s Daughters and Sons. In 1952 the Dansville Memorial Hospital opened on Main Street, in what are now the Faulkner apartments. In 1973 Nicholas H. Noyes Memorial Hospital was opened at its present location thanks to tremendous financial support from the public, including a generous gift from the Noyes Family.

In 2001, Noyes opened its ambulatory care facility, Noyes Health Services in Geneseo, and in 2006, the Saunders Surgical Center and Holroyd Intensive Care Unit expansion was completed and offered state-of-the-art equipment in more advanced operating suites. Noyes Memorial Hospital joined forces with Livingston County to unveil the Noyes Center for Kidney Disease and Dialysis in Geneseo in 2008, and in April of this year, Noyes Health welcomed local and state legislators to the hospital to join in the groundbreaking festivities for its Emergency Department renovation project, which is slated for completion at the end of 2014.

"Noyes has been reshaped over the years in response to the dramatic changes we have seen in healthcare. It is remarkable to think back on over a century of care…..the clinical and technical advancements to improve care are truly amazing," says Amy Pollard, President and CEO of Noyes Health. "Noyes Hospital has been a guiding light for changing times, and I am proud to recognize Noyes Hospital and the outstanding staff that work throughout the Noyes Health system, who truly demonstrate the spirit of compassionate care, close to home!"
