Noyes Health Exceeds Goal on March Blood Collection! Thanks to All Who Donated!

Monday, April 6, 2015

The American Red Cross, Dansville Rotary Club, and Noyes Health would like to thank everyone that donated at Noyes Memorial hospital on Friday, March 20, 2015. A total of 29 units of blood were collected in one day, exceeding our goal of 25 units!

Noyes Health receives a rebate from applicable fees for blood and blood products purchased from the American Red Cross based on total units collected during a one year period. The Red Cross implements initiatives throughout the country to increase the number of blood donors in diverse communities and raise awareness of the need to give blood. The Red Cross helps ensure that patients will get the blood they need at any time of the day or night. This summer Noyes Health is supporting the Red Cross “Summer Type-O” Campaign. All type-O donations collected between June 1, 2015 and August 31, 2015, resulting from this campaign will count toward Noyes Health Life Share collection goal.

Noyes Memorial Hospital is proud to be located in Dansville, New York with its rich health history. Clara Barton founded the first American Red Cross Chapter right here in Dansville in 1881. And there is a historical connection between the hospital and the Clara Barton/Livingston Chapter office location, a beautiful old home which was donated by the Noyes family!

Colleen Bradley, Laboratory/Phlebotomy secretary, serves as the volunteer coordinator for the five community blood drives held at Noyes Memorial Hospital each year. Colleen thanks the Dansville Rotary, community and the employees of Noyes Health for their ongoing participation and support over the years.
