Noyes Health Celebrates National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week

Monday, April 20, 2015

April 19th –April 25th is National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week. Noyes Health is proud to recognize the many dedicated professionals who work in our laboratories throughout the organization. The Noyes laboratory staff is comprised of 33 staff members including Phlebotomists, Medical Technicians, Histologists, Medical Technologists and Pathologists. Noyes laboratory professionals work hard to ensure that critical information about our patients’ health is delivered accurately with minimal turnaround time. Between 60-70% of all clinical decisions to admit, treat, or discharge a patient are based on laboratory results. In 2014, The Noyes Health laboratories processed over one million tests for patients in our community. Our laboratory professionals play a vital part of the patient care team at Noyes Health.

Each year our laboratory professionals also oversee a ten week Phlebotomy training program offered here at Noyes Health. The program prepares students with the knowledge and skills necessary to properly collect blood for analysis. Students completing the course will have the knowledge and skills needed for the national certifying examination of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) for phlebotomy technicians. Noyes Health laboratories also serve as clinical affiliation sites for the University of Buffalo’s Medical Technologist Program and Monroe Community College’s Medical Technician Program.

Noyes is proud of all of the team members in our Laboratory Department that serve a critical role with professionalism and courtesy at all times, in all areas of our organization. We thank you for your hard work and dedication!
