NOYES HEALTH AWARDED CERTIFICATION FOR PRIMARY STROKE CENTER IN DANSVILLE

Monday, May 4, 2015

Noyes Health announced that Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville is now a Primary Stroke Center as designated by The New York State Department of Health. Noyes Health underwent a rigorous onsite review where Department of Health experts evaluated compliance with stroke-related standards and requirements, including program management, the delivery of clinical care and performance improvement.

The NYS Department of Health experts believe Noyes Health has thoroughly demonstrated the greatest level of commitment to the care of stroke patients through its Certification for Primary Stroke Centers. Becoming a leader in stroke care and potentially providing a higher standard of service for stroke patients in its community is the goal of Noyes Health.

Stroke is the number four cause of death and a leading cause of adult disability in the United States, according to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. On average, someone suffers a stroke every 40 seconds; someone dies of a stroke every four minutes; and 795,000 people suffer a new or recurrent stroke each year. The statistics are frightening, but thanks to Noyes Health assistance is available locally.
