The department offers post-residency fellowships in cytopathology, hematopathology, genitourinary pathology, gastrointestinal/hepatobiliary pathology, and neuropathology.
Clinical/Medical Technology Advanced Certificate
This full-time program prepares students for professional careers in clinical laboratory science. Students will complete both didactic and clinical experiences (preceptorships) at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Instructors include NYS licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologists and clinical faculty.
For Medical Students
Year-out medical student fellowships in Pathology give students an opportunity to consolidate their knowledge in a clinical setting. Fellows function as junior members of the resident staff, participating in clinical and research rotations. The Department also offers a number of electives that introduce students to the workings of a modern pathology department and the variety of career choices in pathology and laboratory medicine.
The Ph.D. program in cellular and molecular pathology, "Cell Biology of Disease," is a multidisciplinary program with faculty mentors from some 15 departments. The curriculum includes an emphasis on clinical as well as basic science topics.
Postdoctoral Research Fellowships
Departmental investigators are always interested in hearing from individuals with a doctoral degree and a background in a shared research area. See available positions, but also individual faculty and lab pages.
Departmental Conferences and Seminars
Departmental conferences and seminars include topics that complement the department's educational, clinical, and research programs.
Clinical Technology Internships
This internship experience is designed to provide laboratory technology students with a comprehensive overview in the core laboratories. Under the supervision of licensed laboratory personnel, students acquire theoretical and practical knowledge.
