NICU Trainees Newborn Simulations

Description

Learners participate as teams in simulated delivery room and newborn nursery scenarios to develop their knowledge, patient care skills, teamwork and communication skills.

University of Rochester residents, fellows, APPs, students who provide patient care in the NICU

Learning Objectives

  • Perform the technical skills required for delivery room resuscitation and stabilization of newborn infants (e.g., set-up of equipment and supplies, steps of resuscitation and procedures, etc.)
  • Identify the indications and timing for performing the steps of resuscitation per NRP guidelines
  • Demonstrate effective teamwork and communication skills during neonatal codes

Schedule

Courses occur monthly, every 4th Monday at 4 p.m.
