  • Trial Net – Natural History Study of The Development of Type I Diabetes, University of South Florida: The division has participated in TrialNet studies since its inception more than a decade ago. We enroll patients and their families to support TrialNet’s mission which is to prevent type 1 diabetes and stop disease progression by preserving insulin production before and after diagnosis.
  • Participation in large longitudinal study of bone accrual in children and adolescents newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. The goal of this research is to understand the reasons for impaired bone health in patients with type 1 diabetes so that we can develop and evaluate therapeutic interventions aimed at improving bone strength.
