NRP Instructor Course

Description

Eligible instructor candidates learn key concepts to teach the principles of neonatal resuscitation to healthcare professionals involved with newborn patient care. Candidates participate in a multi-phased process to acquire and demonstrate effective teaching skills, including facilitation skills to lead team simulations and debriefings.

Learners

Individuals interested in becoming instructor candidates must be active NRP Providers in excellent standing who provide newborn patient care in a hospital-based practice

Learning Objectives

  • Demonstrate effective facilitation and teaching skills to foster continued learner self-reflection and learning in a team setting.
  • Design simulation scenarios based on specific learning objectives.
  • Outline best practices for conducting simulations and debriefings to improve learning outcomes.
  • Demonstrate the use of video to deepen learner acquisition of knowledge and skills during team debriefings.
