Current Research

Research performed by the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology focuses on improving our understanding and treatment of the pulmonary diseases that occur in children. Most of our research is funded by agencies such as the National Institutes of Health and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. We conduct clinical trials to develop new therapies and cures for children with respiratory illness.

In addition to these clinical trials, we also conduct research to help us better understand how pulmonary diseases develop and how to best evaluate children with pulmonary diseases.

The division is home to basic science laboratories with a focus in understanding the mechanism of abnormal lung regeneration, airway fibrosis and early lung function decline (Learn more about this research and the McGraw Lab).
