Fellows have extensive training in the division of Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Golisano Children’s Hospital, and develop expertise in clinical diagnosis and management of conditions including autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, speech-language disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and associated behavioral concerns in infants, children, and youth.  Our alumni have regularly cited the depth and breadth of our clinical training and close mentorship of faculty as strengths of our program.

Program Goals

  • Provide fellows with comprehensive knowledge and skills to become leaders in the field of developmental-behavioral pediatrics
  • Offer training specific to autism spectrum and related disorders
  • Establish expertise in interdisciplinary service and research
  • Teach fellows to be responsive to cultural and linguistic differences, and the importance of patient and family-centered care
  • Give fellows a solid grounding in public health knowledge related to developmental-behavioral issues, training in the Life Course, and developing advocacy skills
  • Train fellows in research skills and guide them in their scholarly activities
  • Nurture habits of life-long learning and scientific inquiry
