Our Fellows Current Fellows Sean Frey, M.D. Third Year Fellow Sean is a general pediatrician who attended medical school at SUNY Upstate Medical University and completed his pediatric residency at the University of Rochester. He has an interest in caring for children with chronic health problems. More specifically, he has a long-standing passion for addressing the challenges associated with treating pediatric asthma. Sean would like to investigate different strategies of educating and empowering asthmatic patients and their families in a variety of care settings, with a goal of improved disease self-management. Marybeth Jones, M.D. Second Year Fellow Marybeth received her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. She completed a combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She is interested in medical student and resident education. Clinically, Marybeth hopes to focus on adolescent patients with chronic illnesses, with goals of identifying barriers to care, reducing morbidity and mortality during times of transition and improving pediatric and adult provider confidence in providing quality care to this at-risk patient population. In her spare time, she enjoys running, cooking and baking. Casey Rosen-Carole, M.D., M.P.H Second Year Fellow Casey received her medical degree from New York Medical College in 2005, along with her MPH. She completed pediatric residency training at Yale New Haven Children's Hospital. She practiced for 5 years as a pediatrician while developing institutional, community and research-based initiatives to help her patients and the surrounding community improve breastfeeding rates. Her research interests include improving breastfeeding education of medical personnel, the impact of community initiatives on improving breastfeeding rates, and cultural contexts and disparities influencing breastfeeding success. In her free time, Casey enjoys volunteering to improve community resources for breastfeeding women, helping random acquaintances with their breastfeeding difficulties, teaching her little boys to breastfeed their dolls, and gardening. Carrie Gregory, M.D. First Year Fellow Carrie is originally from upstate New York and is very excited to be back. After growing up in Plattsburgh, she attended SUNY Geneseo, where she earned a degree in Biochemistry. She earned her medical degree here at the Unviersity of Rochester. Carrie them completed her residency in Pediatrics at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. After residency, she worked for two years in a primary care office in Barrington, Rhode Island. Carrie and her husband, Hammurabi, have a 10 month old daughter, Júlia.
