I chose this field because I enjoy treating the variety of diseases that I encounter as a general surgeon. These conditions range from relatively simple to complex. I treat anorectal diseases including hemorrhoids, abscesses, fissures and fistulas, abdominal and groin hernias, gallbladder diseases, varicose veins, pneumothorax and empyema. In addition, I provide treatment and cancer management options for colorectal, skin and soft tissue, breast and thyroid cancers.

My patients can depend on me to be highly skilled in hand-assisted laparoscopic colon resection for diverticulitis or cancer, laparoscopic inguinal and hiatal hernia repair, fundoplication and large ventral hernia repair with component separation. I also perform video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery for lung biopsies, pneumothorax or empyema, as well as vein ablation and varicose vein stripping, AV fistula for dialysis access and port placement for chemotherapy. Plus, I do temporal artery biopsies for giant cell arteritis and muscle biopsies.

I believe in giving my patients the best care available and treating them as if they are my family members – with dignity and respect. To best serve my diverse patient base, I am fluent in English and Vietnamese and am proficient in Spanish.
