Research

Dr. Chen's research interest is previously focused on gynecologic cancer molecular mechanisms of chemotherapy drug resistance, particularly in ovarian cancer. Among the gynecologic tumors, the incidence of cervical cancer has been dramatically decreased since Pap smear screening has been widely used...
Dr. Chen's research interest is previously focused on gynecologic cancer molecular mechanisms of chemotherapy drug resistance, particularly in ovarian cancer. Among the gynecologic tumors, the incidence of cervical cancer has been dramatically decreased since Pap smear screening has been widely used. However, the endometrioid carcinoma incidence is recently found to be increasing and becoming an impending threat to women's health. More and more patients with even early stage or low-grade morphology disease are being found to be recurred earlier than expected or with metastatic disease. The pathologic morphology and the molecular categories are very broad in endometrioid carcinoma. Dr. Chen's recent study interest is on the mechanism study of sensitivity to hormone treatment and how to improve the efficacy of endometrioid adenocarcinoma to Mirena IUD hormone treatment.
