Jeff Harp, MD, has been around the Family Medicine Department forever. He continues to enjoy teaching, clinical practice and exploring both the confluence of family medicine and family therapy and the influence of spirituality on health.

Currently he is a preceptor in the Highland Family medicine outpatient practice, consulting with residents as they see patients. He also works as a hospitalist and Highland hospital and directs the University of Rochester School of Medicine Global Health pathway. In past Family Medicine lives, he has been a medical student, resident, chief resident, family systems medicine fellow, Medical Director, Associate Residency Director, and Residency Director and coordinator for inpatient adult medicine teaching.

For over 30 years he has helped coordinate trips to deliver rural health care, traveling to Haiti every 18 months (interrupted by Covid) with an international medical team which coordinates its work through a network of Haitian churches. He also likes to work with his local church, sing (mainly music written before 1700), explore gluten free vegan cooking and baking, and hang out with his family.
