Biography

Alan Lorenz, MD, received his Bachelor's degree from Stanford University, his Medical degree from the University of Wisconsin, and completed a residency in Family Medicine and a fellowship in Family Systems Medicine at the University of Rochester.

After practicing for nine years in rural upstate New York as both a family doctor and a family therapist, he returned to teach in the residency in 2001.

His first co-authored book, Models of Collaboration: A Guide for Mental Health Professionals Working with Health Care Practitioners, was published in 1996; and his second co-authored book, the acclaimed revision of Family-Oriented Primary Care with Susan McDaniel, Tom Campbell, and Jeri Hepworth, was published in 2005.

He teaches part-time in the residency and sees patients at the University Health Service.
