Ms. Augostini has been caring for children and their families at Golisano Children's Hospital/Strong Memorial Hospital since 1987. She began her career caring for infants and toddlers as a staff RN on 4 -1600. She earned her Master's Degree in 1994 and then accepted a part time position in Pediatric Pulmonary as a Nurse Practitioner focusing on the care of children with Cystic Fibrosis while teaching as a Clinical Preceptor for Undergraduate Nursing Students at the University of Rochester. She worked in a variety of roles thereafter including Clinical Nurse Specialist, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Instructor for the University of Rochester and Brockport University as well as a per diem RN on 4-1600.
Ms. Augostini started her career in Child Neurology in the fall of 1999. She has focused her practice on evaluating and treating children with seizures and epilepsy. She evaluates children with first time seizures in the New Onset Seizure Clinic. She also manages the Vagal Nerve Stimulators in children who have them placed for intractable epilepsy.
She is a Clinical Associate at the University Of Rochester School Of Nursing and commonly acts in the role of preceptor to nurse practitioner students. She provides education and lectures on Pediatric Seizures and Epilepsy to Nurse Practitioner students as well as to school nurses and counselors. She has also spoken numerous times at the local and national level on a variety of topics including epilepsy, seizures, vagal nerve stimulation and general neurology topics.
Ms. Augostini is a 1987 graduate of Keuka College, School of Nursing and a 1994 graduate of the University of Rochester School Of Nursing, Care of Children and Families program. She is also a member of the National Association of Child Neurology Nurses.
