Patient Care Bio
Dr. Callahan is Director of the Confocal and Conventional Microscropy Core and the Multiphoton Microscopy Core. The Cores provides access to high-end confocal microscopy, high-end multiphoton microscopy, conventional brightfield and fluorescence microscopy, and provides assistance with all imaging procedures as needed by the investigators. Dr. Callahan's primary research interest is the development and application of light microscopy applications across a wide spectrum of research disciplines. Her particular research interest is in the response of effected and neighboring neurons to cytoskeletal disruption in late-onset neuro-degenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer's Disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, and Parkinson's Disease.
