Dr. K-O'Connor obtained his MD from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed medical internship at Ochsner Clinic Foundation, both in New Orleans, Louisiana. A native of Rochester, NY, he returned to complete both his Diagnostic Radiology residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center and his fellowship in Magnetic Resonance Imaging at University Medical Imaging. Dr. K-O'Connor is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Imaging.
Dr. K-O'Connor joined the Department in 2012 as a member of the overnight Emergency Imaging section. His professional interests include ED imaging -specific QA, medicine and radiology pedagogy, stroke and neurotrauma imaging, and the development and clinical application of emerging imaging technologies and applications, such as cone-beam breast computed tomography and PET-MRI.
Research interests include: medical/imaging pedagogy; CT/MRI of acute stroke, MRI of acute and chronic neurotrauma; evidence- and/or system-driven ED imaging initiatives; cone-beam breast computed tomography (CBBCT)
