Patient Care Bio
After receiving her undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago, Dr. Jaffe enjoyed traveling the globe and working at a wide variety of occupations, before starting a family and completing her pre-med coursework at Brooklyn College. She earned her medical degree at SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Different patients communicate their needs and challenges in a variety of ways. With that in mind, Dr. Jaffe truly values the importance of attentive listening considering it the measure of good medicine. As part of her care, she translates medical thinking into sensible day-to-day language so that patients are empowered to make the choices that support their health and well-being.
She firmly believes it is a privilege to witness life through the lives of her patients. In her experience, these interactions have been a resource of education and wisdom and have helped her to become a better doctor and person.
Dr. Jaffe's medical expertise is Internal Medicine with a particular interest in doctor-patient communication and mindfulness-based stress reduction and medical education. Dr. Jaffe precepts in a number of courses at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
