After completing undergraduate degree...
After completing undergraduate degrees in Biology and Psychology, she obtained her MD degree in her native Italy, at the University of Pavia, then served her medical residency in Family Medicine at North Shore University, Glen Cove, NY, acting as chief resident in her final year. Board Certified in Family Medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Medicine, she has practiced Family Medicine and Pediatrics for over 25 years.
Trained in the biopsychosocial model at the University of Rochester with a Fellowship in Family Systems Medicine (1996), followed by the Intensive Program in Marriage and Family Therapy (1998), she is a NYS licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy.
In 2000, she opened a private solo practice offering Medical Consultations, Medical Family Therapy and Marriage & Family Therapy, serving individuals and families with a comprehensive approach to the assessment and treatment of co-occurring medical and emotional illnesses, including psychotropic medication management.
