Dr. Mark Nickels is the Director of the Psychiatry Residency program. His clinical work is in Transplant Psychiatry, having worked with the Liver, Kidney and Heart Transplant programs for over 20 years. He is the Director of Transplant Psychiatry. Dr. Mark Nickels is the Director of the Psychiatry Residency program. His clinical work is in Transplant Psychiatry, having worked with the Liver, Kidney and Heart Transplant programs for over 20 years. He is the Director of Transplant Psychiatry. Dr. Nickels has a special interest in working at the interface between psychiatry and medicine/surgery. He has provided psychiatric consultation in general hospital settings, was a long-time consultant to the Strong Epilepsy Center, has worked extensively with primary care providers including in primary care settings, with bariatric surgeons, and with providers in the Cancer Center. He is also the Interim Director of the Inpatient Psychiatric Consultation-Liaison Services.
Dr. Nickels is board certified in Psychiatry and in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.
