Dr. Cohen serves as the Chief Medical Officer of the Center for Primary Care and the Ambulatory Medical Informatics Officer at University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC)/Strong Health. Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Management, Dr. Cohen graduated from the Albany Medical College in 1982 and completed his Primary Care Internal Medicine residency training at URMC in 1985.

He is particularly interested in the use of technology to enhance practice efficiency and the quality of patient care, and the dynamics of medical group practice and physician behavior. In his role, he is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and ongoing use of TouchWorks at URMC, and promoting the use of information technology in the ambulatory clinical setting. Dr. Cohen serves as a faculty member for TouchWorks project team training and advanced note for clinicians. He also maintains a part-time practice at Southview Internal Medicine.
