Biography

Dr. Kiernan joined Long Pond Pediatrics in September 1992 after eight years in practice in Ithaca, New York. Her undergraduate degree is from Marywood College in Scranton, Pennsylvania and she received her medical degree from SUNY at Buffalo. Her residency and fellowship years were at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

She is a board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP), and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). She is also a clinical assistant professor at the University of Rochester and a member of the Academy's Section on Foster Care and Adoption. Her special interest is providing comprehensive medical assessment and care of international adoptees. She currently serves as a representative on the AAP NY 1 Rochester Pediatric Council.

Dr. Kiernan and her husband are devoted parents of two adopted daughters, their eldest from China, and their youngest daughter from Kazakhstan. In addition to traveling she enjoys her participation in the many activities of the Rochester region of Families with Children from China.
