Jonathan A. Marcus, MD, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He completed medical school at the University of Miami- Miller School of Medicine in 2005. He then completed his medical internship and neurology residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He remained at the University of Rochester to complete fellowship training in both Sleep Medicine and Clinical Epilepsy.

During his residency training he was recognized for his teaching skills by the medical school with the Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine Award in 2007 and 2008. He was elected by the graduating medical students in 2008 to the AOA medical honor society. In 2014 he was recognized by the graduating neurology residents at URMC with the Neurology Faculty Teaching Award. He is board certified in both neurology and sleep medicine, by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Marcus specializes in all areas of sleep medicine. His clinical interests focus on the education of both his patients and their families, as well as the community at large, on sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, insomnia, and narcolepsy. Dr. Marcus has academic interests in the association between obstructive sleep apnea and hypertension.

He is the Director of Regional Development for the UR Medicine Sleep Center.
