Dr. Lie is interested in caring for both children and adults with complex medical problems. Her work will focus on management of hospitalized children who may require multiple specialties, long stays, frequent hospitalizations, and close coordination with other care providers. She will also be caring for adults in the outpatient setting at the Complex Care Center. She also has a special interest in global health.

Dr. Lie's research interests include:

- Access to health care among adolescents with complex medical needs.

- Adolescents' adoption of self-care, and their use of over-the-counter medications and alternative therapies.
