Professional Bio

Dr. Rajiv Mangla is an Assistant Professor of Imaging Sciences at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Dr. Mangla is an American Board of Radiology certified radiologist who completed his Neuroradiology, advanced neuroimaging, interventional radiology and emergency radiology fellowships at University of Rochester and then continued as faculty member in neuroradiology. He is committed to provide excellent patient care in all aspects of the brain, spine, head and neck imaging with further expertise in advanced brain imaging and interventional spine procedures.
Born in India, he did his medical school, internship and residency in radiology from post graduate institute of medical sciences India.

He was further trained in Magnetic resonance imaging at Apollo hospital and Rajiv Gandhi Cancer institute Delhi. He moved to United States in 2006 and spent 2 years as a dedicated researcher in advanced neuroimaging. His research has led to award winning publications in distinguished journals and conference proceeding. His current research lies in neuroimaging applications of CT and MRI with focus on perfusion, spectroscopy, diffusion tensor imaging and functional imaging. His goal is to develop imaging biomarkers that can help in diagnosis and determine the prognosis of neurological diseases and disorders. He is an avid educator here at the University of Rochester, and has received prestigious Shu-Ren Lin Award for Resident Teaching.
