Donna R. Berryman is Director of Miner Libraries. In this capacity, she is responsible for the staff and services of Basil G. Bibby Library (Eastman Institute for Oral Health), Golisano Children's Hospital Family Resource Library, John R. Williams Health Sciences Library (Highland Hospital), and Edward G. Miner Library (URMC). Donna also is Associate Professor of Clinical Public Health Sciences.
As a nationally-recognized leader in the field of medical librarianship, Donna is a strong advocate for the transforming impact of libraries. Quality health information underpins all aspects of health care. It is the foundation of all health care processes, including clinical care, biomedical research, and the science of health care delivery, transformative health education, and the development of informed healthcare consumers.
Donna is dedicated to ensuring that URMC has the mission-critical, authoritative information it needs to support its expanding enterprise. Under her directorship, Miner Libraries will continue to provide extraordinary resources, services, programs, and facilities.
Before coming to Rochester, Donna was the Outreach Coordinator for the New England Region of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine housed at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. In that capacity, she taught classes on how to use resources from the National Library of Medicine for health professionals and librarians all over New England.
Donna earned her B.S. with Distinction from the Carlson School of Management (University of Minnesota); her Master in Library and Information Science degree from Dominican University (Illinois); and her Ed.D. from The Warner School of Education (University of Rochester).
