I am interested in the management of hospitalized children, specifically those that are diagnostically complex. I also work to make the lives of my patients as normal as they can be during hospitalization, so that they are as comfortable and content as possible, and can smoothly transition back into their daily lives.

Professional Background

Dr. Biondi is a pediatric hospitalist whose clinical expertise is caring for hospitalized children. He is heavily involved in resident and medical student education and stresses practicing evidence-based medicine. He also acts as the Physician Unit leader for one of Golisano's three general care floors and is working to develop and implement integrated care pathways for common pediatric illnesses. In addition, Dr. Biondi is the Assistant Director of the Community Advocacy in Resident Education (CARE) Track, in which he works with residents to develop evidence-based community projects that benefit children in the Rochester area.

Dr. Biondi is heavily involved in clinical outcomes, quality, and educational research. His main area of interest is in children hospitalized with common illnesses; particularly infants with fever and children with pneumonia. Much of his clinical research attempts to examine current practice in order to reduce unnecessary tests, medications and procedures. Dr. Biondi has led several national studies and is involved with the Pediatric Research in Inpatient Settings (PRIS) and Value in Inpatient Pediatrics (VIP) networks.
