Research Bio

I am an associate professor in University of Rochester with subspecialized GI and cytology practice. I am very interested in translational research on the esophageal carcinoma and precancerous lesions. I am developing a new screening test for Barrett's esophagous and other precancerous lesions. This new screening method will combine cytology, immunohistochemistry and next generation sequencing to find patients with Barrett's esophagus and predict the high risk patients for esophageal adenocarcinoma. In addition, I am involved in studying a new diagnosis method for the recurrent esophageal adenocarcinoma with blood sample and next generation sequencing.

I also join the TCGA GI committee in National Cancer Institute to detect the genetic mutation related with esophageal carcinoma and gastric adenocarcinoma and American Society of Cytopathology, Research and Current Concepts Committee (review abstracts and presentation for Awards).
