Carissa Treptow, Pharm.D., BCOP, earned a bachelor of science degree from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY in 2009 and a doctorate of pharmacy degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) School of Pharmacy in Erie, PA in 2012. Upon graduation, she completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY. Immediately following her residency training, Carissa worked as a clinical staff pharmacist on the oncology team at the University of Rochester Medical Center - Wilmot Cancer Center. Carissa is currently a clinical specialist is malignant hematology and is the Residency Program Director for the PGY2 Oncology program at the University of Rochester Medical Center - Wilmot Cancer Center. She serves as an active member of the Research Subjects Review Board (RSRB), the Preceptor Development Committee, Residency Advisory Committee, and the Oncology Subcommittee. She serves as a preceptor for APPE students and PGY1 residents completing elective inpatient malignant hematology rotations and PGY2 oncology residents completing the inpatient malignant hematology rotation. Carissa is also an active member of HOPA, serving on the BCOP self-study committee, ACCP, serving on the NYS annual meeting committee, and of ASHP.

Carissa's clinical areas of interests include acute leukemias, particularly acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and treatment of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in oncology patients. Carissa also has an interest in preceptor development and engagement.
