Wilhelmina graduated from SUNY Brockport in 1997 with a BSN. After this she spent a short time working on a medical telemetry unit as an RN before transitioning to the ICU setting. In May 2007 she graduated from Wayne State University with a MSN, subsequently becoming certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She went on to practice in Hospital Medicine for many years before once again furthering her education and obtaining a Post-Master's Certificate from the University of Rochester in 2015 and becoming certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. In 2016 she decided to expand her career outside of the hospital setting, choosing to work at a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center in the City of Rochester delivering primary care to patients of all ages. In 2019 she returned to the inpatient arena, specializing in Gastroenterology. In December 2021 she received a DNP degree.
