Professional Background

Dr. Kriti Thapa spent her formative years in Nepal, the Netherlands and New York City. She was part of the Rochester Early Medical Scholars combined B.A./B.S.-M.D. program at the University of Rochester, where she received her undergraduate degree in Biology, with a cluster in Epidemiology and M.D. degree with Distinction in Research and Community Health. She obtained her M.P.H. degree, with concentrations in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, at the CUNY School of Public Health in New York City. Dr. Thapa completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Additionally, she has presented her work on refugee health nationally, and is published in public health and medical journals, which includes research on transitions of care, preventative and quality improvement strategies to combat the opioid epidemic and neurocysticercosis. She is now a hospitalist within the Department of Medicine and aims to deliver high value, compassionate and culturally competent care to all of our patients.
