He attended medical school at University of Kansas, Kansas City. He did his internship, residency and fellowship at Beth Israel Hospital, Harvard, Boston. Dr. Werth is board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology. Dr. Werth has previously held faculty appointments with medical schools in Texas and North Carolina. He assisted with the establishment of the liver transplant program in Charlotte and is experienced in the care of patients with advanced hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal disease.
