Michelle Smith, FNP, graduated from SUNY Brockport with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2012. She earned her Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Rochester School of Nursing in 2017. Prior to joining the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) team in 2020, she worked as a Registered Nurse at Strong Memorial Hospital’s Cardiac Care Unit for 4 years, Ambulatory Neurology for 1 year, and as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner for 2.5 years at Highland Family Medicine. Michelle works closely with Faculty and Residents to provide collaborative team-based care for patients in the outpatient OMFS clinic as well as currently completing additional training as a Registered Nurse First Assistant to work alongside the surgeons in the Operating Room setting.
Michelle also works as a Navigator for the Hospital Dentistry Team located at Strong Memorial Hospital to help facilitate care for patients who need dental evaluations prior to interventions such as transplants, radiation therapy, and cardiac procedures.
Michelle is an ANCC Board Certified Nurse Practitioner in Family Health, and a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, The Nurse Practitioner Association of New York State, and the Genesee Valley Nurses Association.
