Professional Bio

Dr. Refky Nicola is an Assistant Professor in Imaging Sciences and Emergency Medicine. He graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine after completing in a Master's Degree in Biomedical Science. He completed his Diagnostic Radiology Residency at UMDNJ-Cooper University Hospital, which is a busy level I trauma center serving the South Jersey/Philadelphia Region. During his residency he was honored for his excellence in research with the RSNA resident research award and selected for the RSNA/ARRS-Introduction to Research Program. He currently specializes in Emergency Imaging and is a member of the Emergency Radiology Section.

He has presented international and national meetings and an active member in the Society of Emergency Radiology, American Roentgen Ray Society, and Radiological Society of North America. He works closely with fellow Emergency physicians to optimize the best treatment for patients who are acutely ill and a strong advocate of Imaging Wisely.
