Biography

Dr. Chen is a mother, wife, and surgeon. As a recent graduate of the UR Plastic Surgery Residency, Dr. Chen is familiar with the unique characteristics and diverse needs of patients in the Greater Rochester Area and surrounding regions. Within the field of Plastic Surgery, her practice focuses on a broad spectrum of reconstructive and aesthetic surgery including breast cancer reconstruction, breast reduction or augmentation, benign and malignant skin lesions, body contouring, complex trunk and extremity reconstructions, facial rejuvenation, facial trauma reconstruction, and surgical and nonsurgical options for wound care. She is also certified in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and sees patients at the Sawgrass Wound Healing Center. Dr. Chen believes in taking care of the whole patient with respect to his or her medical condition, treatment goals, and personal values. She prides herself on her deep attention to detail in her work and holds herself to a high standard when it comes to delivering excellent and collaborative patient care. She is accepting new patients in our Sawgrass Plastic Surgery suite, which is located conveniently in Brighton, NY.

Professional Background

Dr. Chen attended Cornell University with a major in Human Biology, Health, and Sciences with minor concentrations in nutrition and neuroscience. She graduated in 7 semesters and pursued research in her time between college and medical school. Dr. Chen then attended Indiana University School of Medicine and graduated with her MD in 2012. She then pursued Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training in the residency program at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

Research

Dr. Chen is interested in clinical research in the fields of general plastic surgery, breast cancer reconstruction surgery, and resident education.
