Dr. Chen (she/her/hers) has been in Rochester since 2012, and is familiar with the unique characteristics and diverse needs of patients in the Greater Rochester Area and surrounding regions. Within the field of Plastic Surgery, her practice focuses on a broad spectrum of reconstructive and aesthetic surgery including breast cancer reconstruction, breast reduction or augmentation, cosmetic body contouring, body contouring after weight loss, benign and malignant skin lesions, complex trunk and extremity reconstructions, non-surgical and surgical facial rejuvenation, and surgical and nonsurgical options for wound care. She is also certified in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and sees patients at the Sawgrass Wound Healing Center. Dr. Chen believes in taking care of the whole patient with respect to their medical condition, treatment goals, and personal values. She prides herself on her deep attention to detail in her work and holds herself to a high standard when it comes to delivering excellent and collaborative patient care. She is accepting new patients in our Sawgrass Plastic Surgery suite, which is located conveniently in Brighton, NY.

Professional Background

Dr. Chen attended Cornell University with a major in Human Biology, Health, and Sciences with minor concentrations in nutrition and neuroscience. She graduated in 7 semesters and pursued research in her time between college and medical school. Dr. Chen then attended Indiana University School of Medicine and graduated with her MD in 2012. She then pursued Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training in the residency program at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Currently, she is the Director of Inpatient Wound Services at Strong Memorial Hospital, and Director of the Life After Weight Loss Program. She is a member of the Comprehensive Breast Care Center at Pluta Cancer Center.


Dr. Chen is interested in clinical research in the fields of general plastic surgery, breast cancer reconstruction surgery, body contouring surgery, and resident education.
