Patient Care Setting

Family Medicine

Dr. Lis-Hyjek completed her family medicine residency followed by a chief administrative year at the University of Rochester. As a family medicine physician, she feels it is a privilege to care for individuals across all stages of life. She believes that each patient deserves a respectful advocate who takes the time to get to know not only him or her, but where they come from. She is passionate about teaching as well as learning from her patients and feels that greatest outcomes are achieved through a collaborative doctor-patient partnership.

As she continues to develop her philosophy of practice she has particular interest in taking a step back, with a wider view on what it means to promote wellness and to be healthy. She strongly feels that anyone is capable of achieving a healthier lifestyle and is interested in empowering her patients to do so.

Dr. Lis-Hyjek has specific interests in women's health, taking care of newborn babies, children and supporting their parents. She also enjoys working closely with patients to optimize management of chronic diseases and prevent illness.

She is an avid traveler and enjoys relaxing with a good book, biking, eating good food with friends and learning new things. She and her husband have a very energetic toddler and enjoy spending their time outside playing with her and exploring.
