Biography

Andrea Wasilewski MD is a board certified neurologist and neuro-oncologist with a passion for providing the highest quality patient care. She is also a clinical researcher and medical educator. Dr. Wasilewski specializes in treating patients with primary brain cancer, primary central nervous system lymphoma, brain metastases and neurologic complications of cancer. Her treatment philosophy emphasizes comprehensive and multifaceted approaches to cancer care for patients and their caregivers. As a clinical researcher Dr. Wasilewski develops and studies new ways of evaluating and treating older patients with brain cancer.

Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment in Older Patients with Newly Diagnosed Malignant Gliomas

Lead Researcher: Andrea C Wasilewski

The purpose of this study is to collect information about the physical function, thinking, independence, social support, and medications of older patients with brain tumors in order to develop more specialized treatments and support for that population. Inclusion Criteria: Age 65 or older of any race, ethnicity, or gender; Pathologically confirmed glioblastoma or anaplastic astrocytoma; Have not started radiation or chemotherapy for brain tumor treatment
