Dr. Khanna is an Assistant Professor of Interventional Radiology in the Dept. of Imaging Sciences at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He went to medical school at Maulana Azad Medical College in Delhi, India and subsequently did a general surgery residency at the Lady Hardinge Medical College in Delhi, India. After a short career as a general surgeon, Dr. Khanna moved to the U.S. and started his general surgery residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital in New York. It was in the U.S. that he became very interested in radiology, particularly in image-guided minimally invasive treatments/interventional radiology. He did his vascular and interventional radiology fellowship at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. He completed his radiology residency at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh where he served as chief resident. He went on to do an abdominal imaging and intervention fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston and subsequently joined the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Dr. Khanna specializes in image-guided vascular and non-vascular interventions. His academic interests include Locoregional treatments for hepatic and renal malignancies and hepatobiliary/pancreatic imaging and interventions. He is particularly interested in transarterial and percutaneous ablation treatments for primary hepatic, renal malignancies and hepatic metastases. He is also interested in minimally invasive endovascular treatments for venous diseases and varicose vein treatments. Dr. Khanna has several publications and has presented in the scientific sessions of the annual Society of Interventional Radiology Meeting. He is certified by the American Board of Radiology and is a member of the American College of Radiology and Radiological Society of North America.
