Dr. Jonathan R. Burris is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology. He received his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine. He completed his Pediatrics Residency, Chief Residency and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship at the University of Rochester.

Dr. Burris’ primary goal is to provide exceptional clinical care to neonates with a family-centered approach. His clinical and research interests include care of complex neonates, nutrition in breastfed infants, improvement in respiratory outcomes of premature neonates, and graduate medical education. Dr. Burris spearheaded the initiation of less invasive surfactant administration in the GCH NICU which now is the standard of care for infants meeting criteria for surfactant deficiency. He serves as the Associate Director of the Complex Delivery Service and the Associate Director of the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program.
