Professional Background

Dr. Teng completed his fellowship in Colon & Rectal Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after a chief residency in General Surgery at the University at Buffalo. He graduated with honors in biomedical with a concentration in mechanical engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. ...
Dr. Teng completed his fellowship in Colon & Rectal Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after a chief residency in General Surgery at the University at Buffalo. He graduated with honors in biomedical with a concentration in mechanical engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Teng received his medical degree in his home state at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Teng furthered his interest in colon cancer as the 2007-2008 research resident, Bullard Dunn Lab, Department of Surgical Oncology, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, NY, where he studied new targets for future chemotherapy. He presented this work at the Academic Surgical Congress and American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgery meeting. Dr. Teng received awards for both clinical and research work. Two of the accolades include the Gold Star Award for the Best Pediatric Surgery Resident and the Young Surgeon Research Award at the Western New York Chapter of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Teng is board-certified in Colon Rectal Surgery and in General Surgery. He is a member of the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons and American College of Surgeons.

His interests include Robotic surgery, laparoscopic surgery, inflammatory bowel disease and cancer, especially prevention of colon, rectal and anal cancer.
His outside interests include volunteer work, mentoring, photography, and new technologies.
