Dr. Hartmann is a native of Minnesota and comes to the Flaum Eye Institute from Atlanta, Georgia, where he recently completed a fellowship in Neuro-Ophthalmology at Emory University. He earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. He then completed a residency in Neurology at the University of Minnesota, where he was Chief Resident.

Dr. Hartman treats patients suffering from a variety of conditions related to nervous system's crucial role in how we see. Many people experiencing unexplained visual symptoms or abnormalities related to injury of the optic nerve or the brain's visual processing systems appreciate his warm and patient manner. Together he an patients look for answers to either restore or preserve vision before further damage occurs.

Dr. Hartmann's research interests include Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension. He is board certified in Neurology and a member of the American Association of Neurologists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
