Professional Background

Dr. Wizorek joins us from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where he was an Associate Clinical Professor, Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery in the Division of Thoracic and Foregut Surgery. He also held the positions of Chair, Department of Surgical Services and Director of Thoracic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center at Horizon, as well as Surgical Director at UPMC Horizon Lung Center and Lung Cancer Screening Program.
Dr. Wizorek is a Board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and is also certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. In addition to being the recipient of several prestigious awards, including research grant awards, he has authored numerous publications and frequently presents on topics related to general thoracic surgery.
