The objective of my work is to understand the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying different neurological disorders. Previously, I made significant contribution in the area of Multiple Sclerosis aimed at developing therapeutics i.e. discovery of neural androgen receptors as a major mediator of process of myelination and remyelination. I possess strong technical abilities involving transgenic animal resources, corticospinal axonal tracts tracing using state of the art stereotaxic technology, pharmacological and genetic manipulation of nuclear/membrane receptors and resulting changes in intracellular signaling cascade. I am also proficient in manuscript writing for peer reviewed journals, highly dynamic team leader while working as research associate and assistant professor, managing my own energies as well as my group to develop a high performance team that succeeds. My strong intrapersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate with other scientists in matrix environment help me to focus on short term and long term strategic goals and publish in high impact journals.

My current research interests are: (a) understanding of glia function in health and disease in central nervous system in context of glymphatic system; a brain metabolite clearance pathway. (b) I am also interested in understanding key cellular and molecular mechanisms and signaling pathways maintaining glial homeostasis within brain and (c) glia neuron interactions.
