Professional Background

Dr. Pitcher is a board certified oral & maxillofacial surgeon. He was born and raised in Rochester and graduated from McQuaid Jesuit High School.
After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Loyola College in Maryland, he attended dental school at the State University of New York at Buffalo where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) graduating Summa Cum Laude.
Dr. Pitcher completed his training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Medstar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC which is widely regarded as one of the elite training programs in the country.
His training at Medstar Washington Hospital Center included rotations at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Johns Hopkins Hospital, Children’s National Medical Center, the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and the Greater Baltimore Medical Center.

Special Interests:
Removal of impacted wisdom teeth, placement of dental implants, sedation, 3-D imaging, and bone grafting. He lectures for continuing education courses that concentrate on the application of digital technology for dental implant surgery
In addition to private practice, Dr. Pitcher maintains a part time clinical faculty position in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center where he teaches residents.
