Program Tuition

The academic fees of the Family Therapy Training Program do not include University of Rochester tuition, which are as follows:

  • Non-Matriculated: $1,510.00 (per credit hour)
  • Audit: $176.00 (per credit hour) - REQUIRES INSTRUCTOR PERMISSION

Post Degree Certificate Summer 2016 Course Descriptions

Group Therapy A-Z: Consultation Practice

PSI 423 / CRN 19267 (2.0 credit hours)


Course Fee: $1500/semester plus University of Rochester tuition


This course is open to group clinicians who are currently leading or plan to lead treatment groups with psychiatric patients. Participants are expected to present clinical case material on a regular basis. Topics that will be covered include how to start a group, designing the group contract and treatment goals, working through group developmental stages, and treatment resistances. The course instructor is a Certified Group Psychotherapist, and class hours can be credited toward the 75-hour group supervision/consultation requirement of the National Registry of Certified Group Psychotherapists.

Advanced Training in Group Psychotherapy Supervision
PSI 469 / CRN 19340 (2.0 credit hours)

Course Fee: $1500/semester plus University of Rochester tuition

This course is available to senior clinicians who have met the requirements for group therapy certification and who are currently engaged in facilitating group supervision or clinical treatment groups.  This course requires case presentation and participants will be required to participate in a supervision group experience.  Participants are provided with an experiential opportunity to explore and integrate differences through learning about parallel processes in the supervisor, supervise, and patient group.

Supervision Course

The 30 hour course is for individuals seeking the AAMFT Approved supervisor designation. Participants will become familiar with supervision literature, theories, techniques and skills.

Medical Family Therapy Intensive

Dates: June 13 – 17, 2016
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Location: Saunders Research Building, Room 1-412
This week long intensive blends didactic and experiential methods to teach students how to work with families dealing with illness and how to collaborate with physicians from other health care professionals. The MFTI course is a 3 credit course with the University of Rochester, and all students will get a certificate of completion upon successfully completing the course. There is not an option to audit this course.
