URMC Network Access

To connect to the URMC network remotely, please install the Cisco AnyConnect Client on your PC or Mac. This is a one-time process.

If you have already installed the AnyConnect client, please go to your Programs or Applications and open Cisco AnyConnect to launch the VPN client and connect to the network.

Installation Instructions

For Windows

(Requires Windows XP or higher; recommend Windows 7 Service Pack 1 or higher.)

For Mac

(Requires OS X 10.11 or higher.)

If installing the application on a URMC computer, contact the Help Desk at (585) 275-3200 for assistance if you do not have the ability to install software on your own.

For Tablets and Smartphones

The Cisco AnyConnect app is available for a variety of mobile devices through the iTunes App and Google Play stores. From your tablet or smartphone, go to the store for your device and search for Cisco AnyConnect. Click the links below for more information on the apps.

Once installed, open the Cisco AnyConnect app and add a VPN connection for URMC with Server Address: webvpn.urmc.rochester.edu

Network Access via Web Browser

To connect to the URMC network without installing the VPN client, please log in through the Clientless VPN.

This is best if using a computer that is not your own, or when installing software is not ideal. This connection will enable you to interact with the Intranet and Sharepoint, along with many URMC online systems. (Cannot connect to remote desktop or shared drives on the network.)

Once connected, use the address bar inside the web page to navigate to internal sites.
