Cardiovascular Research Institute Hosts International Conference on Gene Expression

DNAResearchers from URMC’s Aab Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI) are hosting the International MADS Box Conference, a two-day meeting of world-renowned experts who will share their latest research related to MADS Box proteins, which control gene expression in virtually all cell types of complex life forms. Keynote speakers include members of the Academy of Medical Sciences in London and the National Academy of Sciences in the U.S.

Organized by Joe Miano, Ph.D., associate director of the CVRI, and Eric Small, Ph.D., assistant professor at the CVRI, the meeting will take place July 10 – 13 at The Inn on the Lake Waterfront Resort and Conference Center in Canandaigua. Though registration for the event is closed, all URMC faculty are invited to attend the meeting for free, but will need to arrange their own meals.
